Like, omg babes, the internet’s been totally freaking with those dramatic TikTok edits—like America’s about to plunge back into, um, full-on political assassination chaos. But let’s be silly and play the ultimate “what if”: what if a huge conservative loudspeaker like Charlie Kirk—you know, Mr. Turning Point USA himself—was suddenly taken out in some shocking attack? Would that mean the U.S. is rewinding to its darkest, messiest vibes?
First things first: who even was Charlie Kirk?
- Founder of Turning Point USA, that massive youth conservative org that’s all about free markets and small gov.
- Loud AF on campuses and social feeds, always stirring debate with his hot takes on immigration, gun rights, women in society, free speech, religion, and whatever’s trending.
- He’s been, like, mega controversial for yelling “fraud” after 2020 and for pushing scepticism about COVID 19 vaccines.
- Whether you stan him or can’t stand him, he’s built a serious pro-Trump following.
The controversies, babe, because of course there’s drama:
- Election Fraud Claims – Pushed unproven allegations post-2020 and told young voters to “fight for Trump.” Critics said he was wrecking democracy.
- January 6 Buses – Turning Point Action literally organized buses to D.C. for that rally. He condemned the violence later, but, like, the receipts exist.
- COVID Misinformation – Claimed vaccines caused thousands of deaths. Spoiler: public health officials called that false.
- Immigration Takes – Wants immigration cut way down and accused Dems of “importing voters.” Cue outrage.
- LGBTQ+ Remarks – Dragged Pride, same-sex marriage, and trans athletes—LGBTQ advocates were not amused.
- Campus Drama – TPUSA chapters got accused of harassing progressive students and being sketchy with funds.
- Race Comments – Called systemic racism a “myth” and said white privilege isn’t real—civil rights folks clapped back hard.
Imagining the fallout. Would America be spiraling back to JFK-RFK-MLK levels of chaos? Has the American political climate gotten that toxic? Or would people finally, like, take a breath and stop treating politics like an MMA cage match?
Even in this reality, it’s impossible not to side-eye the climate: hate speech online, polarized campuses, and people who treat politics like blood sport. Also Red vs. Blue states political tensions. Would this hypothetical tragedy make people finally, like, chill with the death threats and actually talk to each other? Or would it just crank the outrage machine to eleven?
Experts would totally be like, “Um, political violence erodes democracy,” and, duh, history proves assassinations don’t “save” movements—they just break societies more.
So let’s see what comes out of yesterday’s event but here we are, babes. Even though the U.S. isn’t officially back in an assassination era rn, thinking about it is like a flashing neon sign: democracy’s fragile, anywhere, and maybe we all need to stop subtweeting each other to death and actually talk.
XOXO,
