So, like, Matt Gaetz, the Florida ex-Congressman who was totally BFFs with Donald Trump, is in, like, major hot water right now. This House Ethics Committee just dropped a report, and it’s, like, soooo bad. They’re saying he paid for sex and drugs, and get this—one of the girls was only 17. Ew, right?!

Okay, so back it up. Gaetz first got into Congress in 2016, repping Florida’s 1st district. He was, like, one of those super in-your-face, loud GOP guys who was always on TV yelling about Trump being the best thing ever. Like, if Trump had a fan club, Gaetz was totally president of it. He stuck with Trump through, like, everything—the impeachments, the drama, the Mar-a-Lago parties—you name it.

Oh, and their bromance? It was legit. Gaetz was, like, always on Trump’s campaign trail, hyping him up. And Trump was all like, “Matt’s my guy.” But now? Uh, silence. Not a peep from Trump after this latest report. Awkward, right?

So this report? It’s a doozy. The Ethics Committee spent, like, five years digging into Gaetz, and they found that he blew tens of thousands of dollars on sex and drugs between 2017 and 2020. And, um, yeah, they’re saying some of it involved a minor. Gross. Also, he was super shady during the investigation—totally not cooperating and even trying to mess it up.

While this isn’t, like, a criminal thing right now, everyone’s saying it could be. Legal experts are all, “Yeah, this could lead to state or federal charges,” and I’m like, yikes.

Gaetz is all, “This is just, like, a smear campaign.” He quit Congress last month, on November 13, after Trump picked him for Attorney General. But, um, no one was having it. Even Republicans were, like, “Nope, pass.” So, he totally backed out of that gig on November 21.

Now that he’s out of Congress, Gaetz is still trying to stay relevant or whatever. He’s starting a show on One America News Network in January, which is, like, cute, I guess? But people are saying he might try for governor or Senate or even Congress again someday. Dream big, I guess?

But, for real, legal experts are saying this could get worse. “The evidence outlined in the report could potentially lead to state or federal charges, particularly if new witnesses or corroborating evidence emerge,” said legal analyst Rebecca Torres.

But Gaetz’s career is teetering on the edge of disaster. His whole Trump connection, which was his claim to fame, isn’t helping him now. Trump’s, like, totally ghosting him. And if more legal stuff comes up, what even is his next move? So, yeah, Matt Gaetz’s story is far from over and it’s not looking good. Stay tuned, because this drama is just getting started.
