Canadian politics are totally messy right now! So, Chrystia Freeland, who’s been like the finance queen for Justin Trudeau, just quit, and it’s a whole thing. She was like, “I’m out,” because she didn’t agree with Trudeau’s spending vibes and wanted Canada to save money for all the economic drama coming with U.S. President Trump’s tariff threats. In her resignation letter, Freeland said something super savage about not wanting to support “costly political gimmicks.” I mean, ouch, right?
Now, Trudeau’s got, like, 45 Liberal MPs signing a letter asking him to pack his bags. Like, they’re literally saying, “Bye, Justin.” And it’s not just that—his party lost big time in a British Columbia by-election, which is basically like a giant red flag. “Justin Trudeau has lost control of everything,” a Liberal insider spilled to The Post.
Dominic LeBlanc just got the Finance Minister gig, which is, like, a total BFF move since he’s one of Trudeau’s closest allies. But is he the guy who can fix all this? IDK. Experts are, like, skeptical. Andrew Coyne from The Globe and Mail called Trudeau’s handling of the economy “a series of short-term solutions at the expense of long-term stability.” It’s giving chaotic energy.
And let’s talk about the next election—mark your calendars for October 20, 2025. But, like, don’t get too comfy because everyone’s gossiping that we might have an early election if Trudeau can’t pull it together. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is loving the drama, saying Trudeau’s government is “in free fall”.
Elon Musk even chimed in, which, like, why is he always in everyone’s business? He tweeted, “He will be gone in the upcoming election,” because Trudeau has a minority government and, apparently, no vibes left.
Political analyst Susan Delacourt told CBC, “Trudeau’s sunny ways have officially set. The party needs to decide if they’re willing to go down with him or start fresh with a new leader.” Like, yikes.
So, yeah, Canada’s political tea is piping hot right now, and it’s all eyes on Trudeau to see if he can survive this. Let’s just say, it’s not looking like a “sunny ways” moment.
XOXO,
