OMG, like, France is totally freaking out! So, on September 7, 2024, everyone was, like, losing their minds because Macron picked Michel Barnier as the new Prime Minister, and let me tell you, people are not happy. So, Barnier is, like, this super conservative guy, and Macron totally ignored the fact that a left-wing coalition won the most seats in the recent election. People are calling it a “stolen election” and saying that Macron’s, like, totally out of touch.
So, obviously, everyone grabbed their cutest protest signs and hit the streets in Paris and all these other cities. I’m talking, like, tens of thousands of people just yelling stuff like “Where’s my vote?” and “Macron, resign!” It’s giving major revolution vibes, and everyone’s talking about how Macron is basically playing with fire here.
Like, France is no stranger to drama, you know? This isn’t the first time everyone’s taken to the streets with their megaphones and demands. Remember the Yellow Vest protests? Yeah, this is, like, the same energy but now it’s all about who’s running the country.
And Barnier, like, he’s known for the whole Brexit negotiation thing, but in France, he’s got this old-school vibe that people on the left are just not vibing with. They wanted Lucie Castets, who’s, like, this young economist, but Macron was like, “Nope!” So, yeah, people are mad.
The far-right, though, they’re, like, kinda okay with Barnier because he’s not super against them, but the left is just like, “No way, not today.” Now, everyone’s wondering if these protests are gonna be, like, the start of something bigger, or if Macron will figure out how to chill everyone out. But, like, who knows?
