Alright, girlies, gather ’round because the tea is HOT! President Joe Biden is like, totally facing major drama over his decision to run for re-election in 2024.
Party Drama Central
So, it all kicked off at the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., where Biden had his first solo press conference this year. And guess what? Prominent Democrats were totally not here for it. Senator Peter Welch from Vermont was like, “Biden, you should step aside.” Then, Democratic Congressmembers Pat Ryan, Earl Blumenauer, and nine others chimed in, saying it’s time for a fresh face, like for real.
And wait for it, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spilled some major tea on MSNBC. She was like, “It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short,” which is like, her way of saying hurry up, Joe!
Celeb Gossip and Public Vibes
But hold on, because George Clooney, yes, the George Clooney, wrote an op-ed in the New York Times. He was like, “The Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.” OMG, Clooney basically said Biden’s not the same anymore.
Union Leaders Throwing Shade
And the nation’s top union leaders are super skeptical too. In a secret meeting (shhh), they were like, questioning Biden’s ability to campaign and lead. They’re worried about his stamina, and like, can he handle another term?
Strategy Sitch
This whole thing is like, major for the Democratic Party. Political guru James Carville said, “The party needs a strong, unified front going into 2024. This kind of division only plays into the hands of our opponents.” Like, duh, right? Division is so not fetch.
Biden’s Clapback
But President Biden is like, standing his ground. At his press conference, he was all, “We’ve made significant progress, and there’s more to be done. I’m focused on delivering for the American people.” His advisors are also like, insisting he’s in good health and ready for another term.
The Future Tea
So, the Democratic Party needs to figure this out, like ASAP. Are they sticking with Biden or going for someone new? This decision is like, super crucial for the 2024 election and beyond.
This Biden drama is all about balancing old leadership with new energy. We’ll all be watching closely, like, popcorn in hand, to see how this all goes down.
