Oh my gosh, the 2024 presidential election is, like, sooo intense right now! Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are totally going all out in those must-win battleground states. Like, Harris is, you know, all about hyping up the energy in the cities and getting young people on her side—especially in places like Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Trump is doing his whole rally thing, talking about bringing back jobs, keeping the country safe, and sticking with those traditional values. It’s seriously like anyone’s game with the polls being sooo close!
And, let’s talk about the money vibes! Economists are like, “Whoever wins could totally shake up the markets.” If Trump’s back in, we’re talking big things for energy and manufacturing since he loves cutting those regulations. But if Harris wins, she’s probably going to be all over sustainability and healthcare changes, which could be awesome for green industries. With people stressing about inflation and their wallets, these economic ideas are, like, super important.
The polls are giving, like, major 2000 and 2016 vibes, with things being so close that one tiny shift in a swing state could change everything. Harris is rallying the progressives with her stances on social justice, climate, and healthcare, while Trump’s message is more for the folks in the suburbs and rural areas who want financial stability and security.
According to Emerson College Polling on Saturday has Harris and Trump tied at 49 percent each. The survey, published on October 24, suggests an extremely tight race and is the first time in Emerson’s weekly polling that Harris is not in the lead.
Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said, “Male voters are breaking for Trump by 13 points, 55 percent to 42 percent, a larger margin than in 2020, while women break for Harris by 10 points, 54 percent to 44 percent, underperforming Biden’s support in 2020.”
The polling also listed the top issues for voters are the economy at 45 percent, followed by immigration (14 percent), threats to democracy (14 percent), abortion access (7 percent), healthcare (6 percent), and crime (4 percent).
Pollsters are doing everything they can to capture the latest trends because this election is wild! It’s hard to say who’s pulling ahead with all the new ways they’re looking at voter enthusiasm and turnout.
The scary thing is that Congress up for grabs too, so Americans could be looking at years of policy changes ahead. And at this point, it looks like it the race is too tight to call. So get out and vote!
