OMG, babes, let’s talk about the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, which totally went down on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in LA. Like, the music, the drama, the FASHION—so much to discuss. It was a night of slayage.

First, THE FASHION. The red carpet was absolutely serving. Bianca Censori basically wore, like, nothing, and obviously, everyone was talking about it. Willow Smith showed up in a sparkly underwear set (bold, we love), and Sabrina Carpenter? She looked like a literal goddess in this silky, elegant gown. There were some wild choices, too—like Jared Leto in what can only be described as “space pirate couture” and Doja Cat’s metallic armor moment. The vibe? Risky, fabulous, and totally meme-worthy.

Okay, so the nominees this year were, like, a mix of total legends and fresh new faces. Obviously, Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar were basically drowning in nominations because, duh, they are unstoppable. But Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter totally made waves with major nods, proving they’re, like, THE girls to watch.

And the performances? O-M-G. Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga had everyone sobbing with their emotional tribute to LA, singing “Die With A Smile,” which totally won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance right after. And in a MAJOR plot twist, The Weeknd—who literally swore off the Grammys after getting snubbed in 2021—made a surprise return and delivered this jaw-dropping performance that was basically a flex on everyone. Like, the drama!

Now, for the winners—Beyoncé finally (FINALLY!!) won Album of the Year for “Cowboy Carter,” making history as the first Black woman to win Best Country Album. QUEEN. Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” totally dominated, picking up five awards, including Record AND Song of the Year. Chappell Roan was crowned Best New Artist (totally deserved), and Sabrina Carpenter won Best Pop Solo Performance because, like, obviously.

But okay, let’s get real—are the Grammys even still a big deal? Like, every year, people ask if they’re relevant, and tbh, it’s kinda messy. In the past, the Grammys have been dragged for snubbing major artists (we’ll never forget The Weeknd’s 2021 drama or when they ignored Nicki Minaj for an entire decade). Plus, with streaming and TikTok basically running the music industry now, some fans are like, “Do awards even matter?” But at the same time, artists still show up, people still fight over the wins and snubs, and Beyoncé finally getting her flowers for Album of the Year proves that change is happening—slowly, but still.

The Grammys have been around since forever—okay, since 1959, when they were first created to honor musical excellence. Back then, it was very, like, “classy jazz and old-school Hollywood” vibes. Over the years, though, the show has gotten messier, glitzier, and way more controversial, from Madonna’s wild performances to people straight-up boycotting the show. And let’s not forget that, for YEARS, the Grammys struggled with diversity and recognizing hip-hop, R&B, and international artists properly.

But despite the drama, the Grammys still give us major moments. Think: Whitney Houston’s legendary performances, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born duet (so romantic, UGH), and Beyoncé being Beyoncé every single time she walks in the room. Even in 2025, with all the changes in music, the Grammys still manage to get people talking.

So, are they perfect? LOL, no. But are they still a moment? Absolutely. And this year’s show? Definitely one for the books. Can’t wait to see what kind of chaos happens next year!

XOXO,
